NOTD - Inglot 222

Have you heard of Inglot? It's a polish make up brand, similar to MAC but much cheaper (at least where I live). Few days ago I went there to buy something special for New Years Eve and this is what I brought home with me!

Shade 222 is a part of the Noble Collection (or Metallic Mania, depending on the country) and it is a silver shade with a metallic finish. The nailpolish comes in a big bottle and contains 15 ml of product, which is quite a lot comparing to some other brands. I personally prefer smaller packaging for less money because it is impossible to finish a bottle of nailpolish and it would be nice if Inglot thought of some minature shades. As with most of metallic nailpolishes, brush streaks are clearly visible so you need to be really careful during application. However, I think such shades look best from afar and I really don't mind visible streaks in this case, but if you're OCD about it, you should look for something else. As usual, I applied two coats and it's enough to get full coverage. Can't really say anything about the quality yet but I've tested it for 2 days on my left hand and nothing bad happened so I guess it will be pretty decent.

What's your nailpolish pick for New Years Eve? Hope you're all going to have a wonderful time!

NOTD - Maybelline MNY 552

Lately I've been stocking myself up with some nailpolishes for autumn and look at this little guy I picked up at the drugstore last week - it's Maybelline MNY in shade 552. Here I should mention that this colour was extremely hard to photograph and no matter what I did my camera picked it up as black. And yeah, in some lightnings it does look like black, but in reality it's a beautiful dark aubergine/plum colour. The coverage is quite good, you could easily leave it with one layer, but I always put on two coats, just in case. I've also noticed that it dries very fast and after just a few minutes I was ready to go. When it comes to quality, I'd say it's average because after 2 - 3 days it chipped a little bit. Other than that it's a really beautiful shade for autumn, especially for a night out. Personally, I think I'll be really enjoying this polish during autumn and winter and I can't wait to pair it up with a glitter top (silver maybe?) for a party.

What shades are you going to wear in the autumn? Let me know!

NOTD - Essence Colour & Go 111 English Rose

In my previous nailpolish post (click!) I mentioned that Essence, a German drugstore brand, changed the bottle and the formula of their nailpolishes series and I was curious to check out the results of that. And voila, look what I accidentally found in my local drugstore during grocery shopping! :) There were only few new shades available so I went with a colour I didn't have in my collection - 111 English Rose. (already loving the name!) As you can see the new bottle is quite similar to Bourjois, isn't it? At first I wasn't a fan but it looks pretty on my shelf!

These photos don't really do justice to the colour, but for me it is a medium brown with a hint of dirty pink and I don't know why, but sometimes this shade in particular lightning reminds me of milk chocolate. The application is easy thanks to a thick brush and it takes just one glide to cover the whole nail. I'm also surprised with the opacity because after one coat I got full coverage! However I still applied two coats just in case (it dries very quickly btw!) and I'm glad I did because here's a downside of this nailpolish - it chipped a bit in less than 24 hours! That's why those who don't like to change the colour of their nails every day will not be pleased. I'm still curious if this new formula will thicken in the bottle as quickly as the old one used to, but I guess I still need a few weeks to find out. Overall, I'm a bit disappointed in the durability but I guess I will try some other shades that are available just to ensure my opinion.

Did you try out the new Essence nailpolishes? What shades do you like the most? Feel free to comment!
